LUKE AYERS

Video Producer and Editor

Hi, I’m Luke

A hard-working, intentional, and dedicated video production professional with aspirations to become a videographer and editor post graduation in May 2025.

During my time at Belmont University, I gained experience in both a newsroom and live production events. At the Belmont Vision, an award-winning college newspaper, I led a team of videographers to plan and produce news packages while producing my own stories and videos. Working in Belmont Athletics, I supported, led, and filled a variety of roles as a student lead for Belmont’s ESPN+ broadcasts as well as shooting and editing highlight reels for the teams.

'Property comes very slowly and at a high price': The expansion of Belmont University

Belmont University wants to buy a house just off campus that recently was put up for sale at an asking price of $2 million.

“We certainty are interested in acquiring it and they know that,” said Jason Rogers, Belmont’s lawyer and executive vice president for external engagement.

Belmont has spent millions of dollars since 2018 on properties it plans to develop, according to public records. The university currently owns all the properties on the block between Bernard and Compton avenues except for three, including the one for sale.

BelMadea: the legend

She walks down the steps to take her position by the pep band. Her black work Crocs thud against the cement.

Where the shoes end, a pair of short, white socks emerge on top of another pair. The tall, red soccer socks reach up almost to the knees.

After a small patch of skin comes the hem of the skirt.

A modest length.

But the modesty quickly goes out the window.

Watkins College of Art Hosts “Stand Up and Vote!” Exhibit

Sixty years of political posters on display, all saying the same thing: vote.

The Watkins College of Art set out to get students to the polls as it hosted an event Thursday for an exhibit and student design competition centered around political artwork.

Posters decorated the walls of the Leu Center for the Visual Arts’ lobby as a part of the “Stand Up and Vote!” exhibit.

In the back hallway, student artwork inspired by the exhibit filled the Meaders Gallery.
